Homemade Pumpkin Spice Syrup
This Homemade Pumpkin Spice Syrup is made by simmering sugar, water, and pumpkin puree with warm spices such as cinnamon sticks, ground cloves, ginger, and nutmeg. The mixture is cooked to infuse the flavors and then strained, resulting in a fragrant, spiced syrup perfect for flavoring coffee, tea, or desserts.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cup sugar
- 1 ½ cup water
- 6 cinnamon stick
- 1 tsp cloves ground
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 4 Tbsp pumpkin puree
Instructions
- Place water and sweetener in a small saucepan, and bring to a simmer over medium-high. Stir until the sweetener dissolves completely.
- Add cinnamon sticks, cloves, ginger, nutmeg and pumpkin puree. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 20-30 minutes.
- Strain over a small sieve or cheesecloth into a clean jar.
Notes
- You can replace the individual spices with 1 tablespoon of pumpkin spice blend for convenience.
- The syrup can be used to flavor coffee, tea, pancakes, or desserts as desired.
- Store the syrup in a sealed container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
