Homemade Pumpkin Spice Syrup
Description
The syrup preparation starts by dissolving sugar in water over medium-high heat, followed by adding whole cinnamon sticks and ground spices—cloves, ginger, and nutmeg—along with pumpkin puree. The mixture simmers gently for 20 to 30 minutes, allowing the pumpkin and spices to meld and infuse the syrup fully.
After simmering, the syrup is strained through a sieve or cheesecloth to remove solids, producing a smooth liquid with a characteristic pumpkin spice aroma and flavor. This syrup can be used to season beverages like coffee or tea, or as a sweet topping for pancakes and desserts.
For convenience, the individual spices can be substituted with a pumpkin spice blend. The syrup stores well when refrigerated and can be adjusted in sweetness by varying sugar quantity.

- 1 ½ cup sugar
- 1 ½ cup water
- 6 cinnamon stick
- 1 tsp cloves ground
- 1 tsp ground ginger
