Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups half and half
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup rum, bourbon, whiskey, or brandy
- grated nutmeg or cinnamon for serving
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs with an electric mixer until they are creamy and lightened in color. Add the sugar and stir with a spoon until all the sugar is dissolved. Add the half-and-half, heavy cream, and vanilla. Stir to combine.
- Strain the mixture into an airtight container. Add the liquor and stir to combine. Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
- When ready to serve, top each glass of eggnog with some grated nutmeg or cinnamon.
