Homemade Taco Seasoning is a simple blend of chili powder, paprika, cumin, onion and garlic powders, cayenne, salt, black pepper, oregano, and optional crushed red pepper. This blend captures the earthy, smoky, and mildly spicy flavors characteristic of taco seasoning, allowing you to customize seasoning levels and avoid additives in prepackaged mixes.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
- 2 teaspoons cumin ground
- 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper optional
Instructions
- In a small mixing bowl, combine all ingredients.
- Pour the spice blend into spice jars. Tip: use a funnel to make it easier to transfer the mixture into the spice jars.
