Homemade Tartar Sauce blends mayonnaise with minced dill pickles, pickle juice, buttermilk, capers, onions, and fresh parsley, finished with lemon juice, salt, and white pepper. Ingredients
- 1 cup mayonnaise (not salad dressing)
- 2 tablespoons dill pickle , minced
- 2 tablespoons dill pickle juice
- 2 tablespoons buttermilk
- 2 tablespoons yellow onion minced, or white onion
- 1 tablespoon capers , drained and minced
- 1 tablespoon flat leaf parsley , minced
- ½ lemon , juiced
- ½ teaspoon white pepper
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
Instructions
- In a small mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredients and mix well to blend.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Finely mince the pickles, onions, and capers to ensure smooth flavor integration.
