Homemade Tartar Sauce
Description
This homemade tartar sauce uses a base of mayonnaise, enriched by the acidity of dill pickle juice and fresh lemon juice, creating a tangy counterpoint to the creamy texture. The finely minced pickles, capers, and onions provide bursts of briny, sharp flavors and slight crunch dispersed evenly throughout.
Buttermilk contributes a subtle thinned creaminess that smooths the mix without diluting flavor. Chopped parsley adds a fresh herbal note, while salt and white pepper season the sauce delicately. The combination yields a balanced tartar sauce that complements fried or grilled seafood well.
The sauce is best served chilled after allowing the flavors to meld for at least 30 minutes. Finely mincing the solid components ensures each bite has integrated textures and consistent flavor without large harsh chunks.
