Homemade Teriyaki Sauce

Homemade teriyaki sauce only takes a few minutes to make and can be used in so many different ways!

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce tamari for gluten-free
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1/2 - 1 teaspoon Sriracha optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 2 teaspoon water

  1. In a small saucepan, combine all of the ingredients for the teriyaki sauce, except the cornstarch. Whisk them together and bring the mixture to a boil.
  2. Combine the cornstarch with an equal amount of water and stir together until the cornstarch dissolves. Pour it in with the sauce and whisk together.
  3. Lower the heat to a simmer and stir until the sauce thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon, about 3-5 minutes. Remove the sauce from the stove and pour it in a jar or other airtight container. Let it cool completely and then store it in the refrigerator until ready to use.
