Homemade Teriyaki Sauce
This homemade teriyaki sauce recipe is packed with flavor and an incredibly easy sauce to make at home. Made with pantry staples, you'll never want to use store-bought sauce again after trying this recipe.
Ingredients
- ½ cup soy sauce (I prefer using low-sodium soy sauce)
- ¼ cup sake optional, replace with water, or mirin
- ¼ cup rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 garlic crushed, cloves
- 1 tsp fresh ginger crushed
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients in a small saucepan and whisk until the cornstarch is incorporated then set over medium-high heat.
- Allow the sauce to come to a boil and cook for 5 minute until the sauce has thickened.
- Use with protein of your choice, as a marinade or as a dipping sauce.
