Homemade Vanilla Extract Recipe

Homemade Vanilla Extract is created by splitting vanilla beans and steeping them in vodka or vegetable glycerine to extract their flavor. Over six to eight weeks in a cool, dark place with occasional shaking, the beans infuse the liquid creating a rich, aromatic vanilla essence. This traditional method allows control over strength and alcohol content depending on the solvent used.
