Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • ½ cup Sugar-free BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar-free honey
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Cut your wings into drummettes and flats, removing the wing tips. I always freeze mine to use in homemade chicken broth later. Add the chicken to a mixing bowl.
  3. Pour the olive oil, baking powder, garlic salt, smoked paprika and onion powder over the wings. Toss to combine, making sure all the wings are well coated.
  4. Place the wings on a baking sheet lined with a wire rack. Lining the pan with foil also helps with easy cleanup. Bake for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. While the wings are baking, add the bbq sauce, butter and sugar-free honey to a microwave safe bowl.
  6. Heat in the microwave until the honey is runny and butter has melted. Whisk until well combined.
  7. After 30 minutes, remove the wings from the oven and brush the sauce on both sides.
  8. Bake for another 5 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of at least 165°F, when checked with a meat thermometer. Serve with the extra sauce that you brushed on the wings.
