Honey Grilled Shrimp Recipe
Honey Grilled Shrimp are marinated in a blend of fresh lime juice, honey, canola oil, garlic, and seasonings, then skewered and grilled until pink and opaque. This combination provides a balance of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors, with a slightly caramelized exterior from the honey during grilling. The quick grill time keeps the shrimp tender and juicy.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons lime juice fresh
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 clove garlic finely minced
- 1/2 pound Shrimp I used 24-30's...feel free to use bigger or smaller ones, raw, peeled and deveined
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix all ingredients for the marinade together. Toss in shrimp and stir to coat completely. Transfer entire contents of the bowl into a plastic food storage bag. Seal the bag and refrigerate at least 1 hour. {I marinated mine 3 hours.}
- While the shrimp marinate, soak 3-4 wooden skewers in some water.
- When you are ready to grill, preheat BBQ to medium-high heat. Skewer the shrimp and grill 3-4 minutes per side or until they turn pink and opaque. Serve warm.
Notes
- Marinate shrimp for at least 1 hour; longer marination enhances flavor.
- Soak wooden skewers in water before grilling to prevent burning.
- For a lower carbohydrate option, substitute honey with sugar-free maple syrup.
