Honey Habanero Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 24 chicken wings (cut into wing and drumette pieces)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 cup honey
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 habanero pepper (minced finely)
  • 1 pound Bacon (cooked and crumbled)

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Preheat oil to 350 degrees.
  3. Remove chicken from packaging and dry with paper towels.
  4. In a large zip-top bag, mix together: flour, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Shake to incorporate.
  5. Drop the chicken wings into the flour mixture and shake to coat the chicken.
  6. Shake off excess flour and drop chicken wings into the hot oil.
  7. Fry for 10-15 minutes or until the chicken is no longer pink in the middle.
  8. Remove wings from oil and let drain on paper towels.
  9. In a mixing bowl, whisk together honey, apple cider vinegar, and habanero pepper.
  10. Dip each chicken wing into the sauce and then place them onto a baking sheet.
  11. Bake chicken wings for 5 minutes.
  12. Remove wings from the oven and immediately sprinkle crumbled bacon on them.
