Honey Waffles
Description
The Honey Waffles recipe blends simple ingredients like whole milk, butter, honey, and self-rising flour to create a sweet and soft waffle batter. The inclusion of honey adds gentle sweetness while vanilla extract enhances the flavor. After combining the wet ingredients and gently incorporating the flour, the batter will have some lumps which is typical for waffles and does not affect the texture.
Cooking the batter in a waffle maker results in waffles that have a crisp outside and a tender inside. The natural sweetness from the honey contrasts with the buttery richness, giving a balanced flavor. Serving these waffles with extra honey or fresh fruit complements their mild sweetness and adds freshness.
Ingredients
- 1.9 cups whole milk 450 ml
- 1 tick + 2 tablespoon butter melted, 125g
- 3 egg beaten
- 3 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups self-rising flour 300g
Instructions
- Whisk together milk, butter, eggs, honey and vanilla and set aside.
- Add flour in a large bowl and make a hole in the centre.
- Slowly whisk the milk mixture into the flour to make a batter and don't worry if there are some lumps.
- Cook the waffles according to your waffles maker instructions until all the waffle batter is finished and set aside somewhere warm.
- Serve the waffles with extra honey and any fruit.
