Hot Buttered Rum

Ingredients

  • 1 butter 1/2 cup, stick
  • ⅔ cup brown sugar packed
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ⅛ tsp cloves ground
  • Pinch salt
  • 4 spiced rum 1.5 oz each, shots
  • 2 cups water more if needed, boiling
  • 4 cinnamon stick

Instructions

  1. Using a hand mixer, beat the butter brown sugar, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt together in a bowl, until creamy and smooth.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a large glass measuring cup (at least 4 cups or larger).
  3. Add the boiling water to the mixture and stir until the butter mixture dissolves.
  4. Add a shot of rum to each mug.
  5. Pour the well-mixed butter/water mixture into the mugs evenly.
  6. Stir well and serve with a cinnamon stick.
  7. Side Note: You may dilute the drinks with more boiling water if it's too sweet.
