Hot Toddy Tea Recipe for a Cold

This Hot Toddy Recipe is just the thing you need when you're feeling under the weather. A perfect blend of whiskey, honey, lemon and immune-boosting spices make this one a keeper.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz whiskey I used bourbon whiskey
  • 1 oz lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 tsp raw manuka honey or any raw honey you have
  • 6 oz hot water not boiling
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 lemon slices
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 1 star anise pod

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. In a heat-resistant glass or mug, combine whiskey, honey, lemon juice and hot water.
  2. Stir until honey is dissolved.
  3. Place whole cloves into a lemon slice (so you don't swallow them whole!).
  4. Garnish the beverage with lemon slices (with clove), cinnamon stick and star anise.*
  5. Drink warm and feel better soon!

Notes

  • *Alternatively, you can add the whole cloves and star anise to a tea infuser ball. 
  •  
  • **If adding tea, simply replace freshly brewed tea with some or all of the hot water.
