How to Cook Beets in the Slow Cooker

Did you know you could cook your beets in a slow cooker? Here’s a fuss-free, hands off, simple way to cook beets in a crockpot!

Ingredients

  • 7-10 beets
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Prepare your beets by giving them a rinse to remove any dirt and cut off the greens/stems of the beets as close to the beet as possible without cutting into it.
  2. Place the beets inside of your slow cooker along with 2 cups of water.
  3. Cook on HIGH for 4 hours or LOW for 8 hours.
  4. When finished, carefully remove the beets (they will be hot!) and let cool a little before removing the skins. You can wear gloves to rub the skin off without staining your hands or by rubbing the skin off with paper towels.
