HOW TO COOK CANNED PEAS ON THE STOVE

Ingredients

  • 16 oz can of green peas
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon granulated white sugar
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Open the can of green peas and pour off the water in the can.
  2. Add a ½ cup of fresh water to the peas and pour the peas and water into a small sauce pan.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat on the stove top.
  4. Add the butter, salt, pepper, onion powder, sugar, garlic powder and red pepper flakes to the peas.
  5. Heat over medium heat stirring occasionally until the butter is melted and the peas are heated through
