How to Cook Italian Sausage

Here's how to cook Italian Sausage on the stovetop, oven, or grill to ensure it's perfect every time. They're great added to pasta, served with roasted peppers or enjoyed in a roll.

Ingredients

  • 4 Italian sausage links or as many as desired
  • water

Instructions

  1. Place sausage in a large skillet.
  2. Add water to ½-depth. Bring to a simmer and cover.
  3. Simmer for 12 minutes. Remove lid and continue to simmer until water evaporates turning sausages occasionally to brown.

Notes

  • To Cook in the Oven
  • Place links on foil-lined baking sheet. Place in cold oven and turn heat to 350°F.
  • Cook for 25-35 minutes or until internal temperature registers 160°F.
  • To Grill
  • Place links on foil-lined baking sheet. Place in cold oven and turn heat to 350°F.
  • Cook for 25-35 minutes or until internal temperature registers 160°F.
  • Place on a 375°F grill. Close the lid.
  • Turn occasionally until uniformly browned about 15 to 20 minutes or until the pork reaches 160°F.
