How to Cook Spanish Onions

Spanish onions have a more delicate flavor, so you'll only need to cook them for a short amount of time. They respond well to cooking with butter or olive oil. Spanish onions are a great choice for sandwiches, hot dogs, and salads because they're juicy, unlike other varieties.

Ingredients

  • 1 Spanish onion
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Peel the onion and cut it into thin slices.
  2. Add olive oil to a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  3. Once hot, add the onion slices to the pan.
  4. Sautee with a wooden spoon. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Cook the onions for about 7 minutes or until they are soft. Serve and enjoy!
