Notes
- Storage: Unfortunately, neither toast nor avocado keeps the best. Toast will get soggy, and avocados will turn brown. However, if you have leftovers and you are wondering how to prevent avocados from browning on toast, you can remove the toppings and store them in a sealed container with a little bit of lemon juice to keep them from browning. Then, store the bread sealed and separate from the toppings. When ready to eat, toast the bread again and top it with your go-to toppings. Toppings will stay good for up to 3 days in the fridge.
- Making Ahead: Unfortunately, avocados begin to brown as soon as they're exposed to air. If you want to make this healthy avocado toast in advance, you could toast the bread, prepare all other toppings beforehand, and layer them on when you're ready. Avocado also responds well to acid—if it's coated or sprayed with lemon or lime juice, it will stay fresh and green longer!
