How to Make Simple Syrup

You can easily have Simple Syrup on hand for a variety of recipes in less than five minutes with only a few ingredients. Simply dissolve a ratio of 1 part sugar into 1 part water on the stove, then store in a jar.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Add the sugar and water to a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat. Simmer for 1-2 minutes, whisking occasionally, or until the sugar has dissolved.
  2. Remove from the heat and let cool to room temperature before using. You should end up with roughly 1 ½ cups of simple syrup.
  3. Store at room temperature in an airtight container or jar for up to 1 week or in the refrigerator for up to 2-4 weeks.
