How to Microwave a Potato

Ingredients

  • 1 russet potato large
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 tablespoons cheddar cheese shredded
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sour cream
  • green onion chopped

Instructions

  1. Scrub and wash the potato well, prick several times with a fork. Place on a plate.
  2. Cook on full power in the microwave for 5 minutes. Turn over, and cook for another 5 more minutes.
  3. When the potato is soft, remove from the microwave, and cut it in half lengthwise.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, mash the inside with a fork. Top with butter and cheese. Return to the microwave, and cook for 1 minute to melt the cheese.
  5. Top with sour cream and green onions, serve.
