Ingredients

  • Hand blender
Strawberry Ice Cream Ingredients:
  • 250 ml whole milk
  • 250 ml single cream
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 125 g caster sugar
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla essence
  • 12 medium strawberries

Instructions

  1. Using an electric hand mixer or a whisk beat together the egg yolks and the sugar until they are fluffy. Heat milk and single cream in a small pan and add the vanilla essence. Add the egg mixture to the pan and stir on a high heat for about 5 minutes.
  2. Transfer the mixture to the fridge and allow to cool for at least an hour. Load the ice cream mix to your ice cream maker.
  3. Slice your strawberries into medium chunks and after 20 minutes add your strawberries, then allow it to churn for a further 20 minutes.
  4. Once it has finished churning serve or freeze for later.

Notes

  • Churning. Most ice cream makers will take 40 minutes to churn your ice cream. If there is going to be a delay of 20 minutes before consuming, put it on for a little longer and it will prevent it from melting.
  • Strawberries. We used some in season fresh strawberries and added them in chunks. You can blend the strawberries for an ice cream without chunks or you can include frozen strawberries.
