Ingredients

  • 1 pound dry black beans
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp Jamaican Jerk BBQ seasoning
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp dried cilantro leaves
  • ½ tsp white pepper
OPTIONAL- FOR SERVING
  • ½ cup scallions sliced
  • ½ cup dairy-free cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients listed above in the Instant Pot. Stir to combine.
  2. Close the lid on the Instant Pot, and turn the valve to sealing position.
  3. Set the Instant Pot to cook on high for 35 minutes. When the cooking time has finished, allow for a manual release for 25 minutes.
  4. OPTIONAL: Serve topped with sliced scallions and dairy-free cheddar cheese.
