Ingredients

  • 5 medium sized yams peeled & sliced ½ inch thick
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 8 tbsp salted butter
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ cup water

Instructions

  1. In an instant pot, place the trivet and ½ cup of water.
  2. Place the peeled and sliced yams on top.
  3. In a small bowl combine brown sugar, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix together.
  4. Sprinkle over the yams.
  5. Top with sliced butter.
  6. Add the list and pressure cook for 8 minutes. Do a quick release.
  7. Remove the trivet and toss the sweet potatoes in the mixture.
  8. If it is too runny, mix 1 tablespoon of corn starch with 1 tablespoon of water. Mix into the mixture and heat until thickened.
