Instant Pot Sesame Salmon
Instant Pot Sesame Salmon features salmon filets cooked in a tangy soy and lime sauce with sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. The quick pressure cooking infuses the salmon with these flavors, while optional snow peas add a fresh crunch. The sauce is thickened after pressure cooking to coat the fish with a flavorful glaze.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey
- 1 lime juiced
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger minced
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon sriracha
- 2 salmon filet center cut
- 1 cup snow peas optional, or snap peas
Instructions
- Whisk together all of the ingredients (except the Salmon) in the Instant Pot. Add the salmon skin side down and make sure it gets covered on all sides with the sauce. Set the Instant Pot to Pressure-Cook for 1 minute.
- When the Instant Pot has finished, release the pressure manually (be careful, it will steam). Remove the salmon and turn the Instant Pot to Saute. Add the peas and cook the sauce, stirring occasionally, until it has reduced and thickened-- about 2 minutes.
- Spoon the sauce over the salmon and enjoy immediately.
- Store any leftover salmon in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days.
Notes
- Frozen salmon can be cooked directly by extending the Instant Pot cook time by 2 minutes.
- Tamari or coconut aminos can be substituted for soy sauce to accommodate dietary preferences.
- Honey, maple syrup, or agave syrup can replace brown sugar as the sweetener in the sauce.
- Store any leftover salmon in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within two days.
