Instant Pot Taco Meat
Instant Pot Taco Meat is a simple ground beef recipe cooked with salsa, taco seasoning, and water pressure-cooked for tender, flavorful meat. The pressure cooker speeds up cooking while infusing spices and salsa flavors. After cooking, the meat is broken up and simmered to reduce excess liquid, ready to use in tacos, burritos, or other Mexican dishes.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef lean
- 1 cup salsa
- 3 tablespoons taco seasoning
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Place the ground beef (raw) in the Instant pot.
- Pour the salsa on top and sprinkle with the taco seasoning.
- Pour the water around the beef.
- Add the lid and set the valve to sealing.
- Set the pressure for 15 minutes.
- Do a quick release to release the pressure. Then use a spoon to break up the taco meat.
- If the mixture is too watery, switch the instant pot to the sauté setting and cook off the excess liquid.
- Serve in your favorite type of tortillas with taco toppings and enjoy!
Notes
- Frozen ground beef can be used; increase pressure cooking time to 20 minutes with quick release.
