Jalepeno Crab Bites
Jalepeno Crab Bites combine lump crab meat, finely diced shallot, eggs, panko breadcrumbs, and spicy Tabasco green jalapeno sauce to form small savory morsels. Seasoned with mustard powder and salt, the mixture is portioned into mini muffin tins, chilled, then baked until lightly browned on top. The result is a tender, slightly spicy bite with a lightly crisp exterior and moist crab filling.
Ingredients
- 1 lb crab meat lump
- 1 shallot
- 2 egg
- 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1 Tablespoon hot sauce Tabasco Green Jalapeno flavor
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder dry
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Dice the shallot finely and gently mix the shallot, the crab meat and the eggs together.
- Combine the bread crumbs, Tabasco Sauce, mustard and salt and sprinkle over the crab meat mixture.
- Gently mix all the ingredients.
- Spray two mini-muffin tins with cooking spray. Add 1 T of crab mixture to the tins.
- Refrigerate the muffin tins for at least 1/2 an hour, or until time to cook.
- Preheat the oven to 350.
- Bake the crab bites for 20-25 minutes until lightly brown on top.
