Japanese Steak Sauce (Teppanyaki Steak Sauce)

Made with only a handful of ingredients, this homemade teppanyaki steak sauce is so easy to make in 5 minutes or less. Not just for steak, this teppanyaki sauce is perfect for dipping with all kinds of meat and vegetables!

Ingredients

  • ½ sweet onion
  • 2 to 4 cloves garlic
  • ⅓ cup olive oil
  • ⅓ cup soy sauce low sodium
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 4 tablespoons roasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ tablespoon rice vinegar unseasoned

Instructions

  1. To a blender, add the half onion, garlic cloves, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, oil, roasted sesame seeds, and lemon juice (and/or rice vinegar).
  2. Blend until smooth. Drizzle additional oil into the blender as needed to thin the sauce to your desired consistency.

Notes

  • Recipe adapted from this Reddit post. You can use one or the other or use 1 tablespoon of lemon juice with ½ tablespoon of rice vinegar.
