Jasmine Milk Tea
Jasmine milk tea blends fragrant jasmine green tea leaves steeped in hot water with milk and honey, optionally infused with dried jasmine flowers for extra floral notes. Served chilled with crushed ice and optional tapioca pearls, this drink offers a creamy, sweet tea experience that balances the delicate jasmine aroma and milk's richness.
Ingredients
Jasmine tea:
- 3 tablespoon jasmine green tea loose leaf
- 2 C water hot
- 1-2 tablespoon honey or sweetener of choice
- 1 C milk or non-dairy alternative
- 1 tablespoon jasmine flowers optional, dried
For serving:
- ¼ teaspoon jasmine extract optional
- tapioca pearls optional, boba pearls
- ice crushed
Instructions
- Add the loose tea leaves to a large tea pot.
- Boil the water and cool to 180°F/82°C.
- Pour the water over the tea leaves and leave to steep for 2-3 minutes.
- Add honey (or sweetener) to a heat-safe jar.
- Pour the tea into the jar and give it a stir to dissolve the honey.
- Add 1 C of milk to the tea and stir.
- Add 1 tablespoon of dried jasmine flowers to the tea, give it another stir and let cool.
- Cover with a lid and place in the fridge to cool overnight.
Assemble:
- When ready to serve, strain out the jasmine flowers from the milk tea and discard. Stir in jasmine extract, if using.
- Place cooked tapioca boba pearls to a tall glass (optional).
- Add crushed ice, pour in jasmine milk tea and serve.
