Jiffy Cornbread Sausage Balls

These Jiffy Cornbread Sausage Balls are hearty, filling, and bursting with comforting flavors. They are bite-sized appetizers that are great for parties.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 3 cups prepared cornbread dressing or cornbread stuffing mix
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° farienheight and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Add the sausage, stuffing, egg, and cheese to the bowl of a stand mixer. Use the paddle attachment to beat the ingredients together until combined.
  3. Use a small cookie scoop or tablespoon to scoop the meat mixture. Roll it into a ball between your hands and place the balls on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until cooked through.

Notes

  • There are two ways to make this recipe; from leftover Jiffy Cornbread Dressing or from scratch with boxed cornbread dressing mix.  If I am freezing the sausage balls, I like to flash freeze them on a baking sheet until they are hard or for about an hour or so. And, then move them to a freezer bag. This prevents them from sticking together.

  • When you are making sausage balls, they can get a little greasy so make sure that you use a baking dish with rimmed edges to prevent grease from getting into the bottom of your oven.
