Juicy Turkey Burgers

Turkey burgers have less fat, less shrinkage, and a little more density than regular burgers. They are perfect for the grill!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey not extra lean
  • 2 slices Bacon uncooked, diced
  • 2 tablespoons seasoned bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce plus extra for basting if desired
  • 1 tablespoon grated onion
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and black pepper
For Serving
  • hamburger buns
  • toppings as desired such as lettuce, tomato, onion

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Gently combine all ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Form into 4 patties, ½" thick. Using your thumb, create a small indent in the middle of the patties. Refrigerate 30 minutes
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Brush patties with barbecue sauce and grill 6-8 minutes per side or until cooked through (165°F).
  4. Serve on hamburger buns with desired toppings.

Notes

  • If you don't want to use bacon, substitute about  1 ½ to 2 tablespoons of cold butter shredded with a cheese grater.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake on a parchment-lined pan for 25-30 minutes or until they reach 165°F.
  • Nutritional information is for the turkey burger patties only.
  • Leftover burgers can be wrapped in plastic wrap or stored in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days. Reheat on the grill or in the microwave and serve on fresh buns.
