Keto Salted Caramel Sauce (Sugar-Free)

Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ cups heavy cream
  • ½ cup butter grass fed, unsalted
  • ½ cup allulose
  • ¼ cup brown monk fruit sweetener or allulose
  • ½ teaspoon  vanilla extract pure
  • ¼-1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan, then add in the sweeteners. Simmer on low for 5 minutes, watching it very carefully.
  2. Remove from the heat, then add in the heavy cream and salt. It will bubble up a bit, so be careful!.  Return to low heat and whisking often, cook for another 15-20 minutes, or until your desired thickness is reached.
  3. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla.  Allow to cool slightly before serving.
  4. The caramel will thicken as it cools.  When you are ready to use again, gently reheat in a saucepan or microwave. Store in an airtight jar in the fridge.

Notes

  • Use grass-fed, unsalted butter for best flavor and creaminess.
  • Simmer sweeteners carefully to avoid burning; watch pan closely during initial step.
  • Add cream slowly to control bubbling and prevent splatter.
  • Store sauce in an airtight jar in the refrigerator; gently reheat before serving as it thickens when chilled.
  • Makes approximately 1 and one-third cups of sauce.
