Lavender Simple Syrup (with or without Vanilla)

A homemade simple syrup to use in drinks and more!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar or honey
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 5 teaspoons dried lavender buds
  • Splash of vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar, water and lavender.
  2. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for about 5 minutes or until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla, if using. Allow to cool.
  3. Strain syrup through a fine mesh strainer into a jar to remove lavender buds and set aside.
  4. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
  5. One of my favorite ways to use this lavender is in a Lavender Latte!
