Ingredients
For the sugar syrup:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- teaspoon orange blossom water optional
For the lemonade:
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 1/2 cups mint leaves
- 3 1/2 cups ice
Instructions
To make the syrup:
- Add the sugar and water to a saucepan over medium heat, whisking to combine the sugar, then reduce heat to low and let it simmer undisturbed for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat, add the orange blossom water, and cool completely.
- In the body of a high powered blender (one that can crush ice), add the lemon juice, water, cooled sugar syrup, mint leaves and ice. Blend until ice is crushed and mixture becomes the consistency of a frozen slushy. Taste, and if you want to add more sugar do it and blend again.
- Pour into serving glasses, and enjoy immediately, preferably with straws.
