Lemon Chess Pie Recipe

This classic southern dessert, Lemon Chess Pie, is going to become one of your favorites with its phenomenal flavors. With a flaky crust and a creamy lemon curd like filling, this delicious dessert comes together with only a few ingredients. One bite and you will in heaven.

Ingredients

  • 1 ready-made deep dish pie crust
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornmeal
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • zest of one lemon
  • 1 cup lemon curd

Instructions

  1. Bake ready-made pie crust according to package directions.
  2. Remove and set to the side.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
  4. In a large bowl combine sugar, cornmeal, flour, and eggs.
  5. Mix to combine using a whisk.
  6. Stir in melted butter, lemon juice, and lemon zest.
  7. Mix well to combine.
  8. Pour the lemon mixture into the prepared pie crust, spread evenly.
  9. Bake for 35 minutes or until filling is set.
  10. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 2 hours on a wire rack.
  11. Top with lemon curd.
  12. Place into the refrigerator to chill for 2 hours.
  13. When chilled, top with whipped cream.
  14. Enjoy!
