Ingredients

  • 2 inches fresh ginger 2 tsp, peeled and sliced into thin ¼” thick pieces
  • 2.5 cups of water
  • Juice from 1 lemon divided
  • honey to taste

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Place the sliced ginger in a small sauce pan, and cover with 2.5 cups of water. Bring water to boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for about 5 minutes. Let the tea steep for at least 5 minutes (or up to 10 minutes).
  2. Pour the liquid into 2 cups through a fine mesh strainer to catch the large ginger pieces, then serve warm with a squeeze of a half fresh lemon per each cup and honey, to taste.

Notes

  • You can store extra ginger tea in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week. Serve it cold or reheated.
  • Use fresh ginger and lemon for the greatest health benefits and best flavor.
  • Allow at least 5 minutes for the tea to steep. This will allow the flavor to develop. For a strong ginger tea, steep it for up to 10 minutes.
