Ingredients

  • 16 oz white button mushrooms stems removed and cleaned
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 2/3 cups White Cheddar Cheese grated
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/3 cups half-and-half cream
  • 2/3 cup Parmesan Cheese grated
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Clean mushrooms and dry with a paper towel and remove stems. Set caps aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, melted butter, salt, and pepper until thoroughly incorporated. Set aside.
  4. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons butter and add minced garlic until fragrant. Add flour and whisk; cook until it turns golden. Stir the mixture while gradually adding half-and-half and Parmesan cheese until the sauce thickens.
  5. Pour half of the Alfredo sauce into the bottom of the baking dish. Next, place mushroom caps on top, add the remaining sauce, and then the white cheddar cheese.
  6. Top with breadcrumb mixture and bake for 10 minutes. Set the oven to broil and broil until golden brown. Garnish with fresh parsley.
