Ingredients

  • 2 bagels
  • 100 g smoked salmon
  • 75 g full fat cream cheese
  • lemon juice (few drops)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill (finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon capers (finely chopped)
  • 1 Persian cucumber
  • ¼ cup sliced red onions or pickled red onions
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • pinch of salt

  1. Slice the bagels in half horizontally and toast them lightly. While this step is optional, a crispy, golden-brown bagel is simply irresistible.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese, chopped capers, lemon juice, and chopped dill. Save some of the dill and capers for garnishing.
  3. Spread a generous amount of cream cheese mixture on the cut sides of each bagel half.
  4. Place sliced cucumbers and smoked salmon slices on each bagel.
  5. Top the smoked salmon slices with red onions (or pickled red onions), capers, and dill leaves.
  6. Season the toppings with freshly ground black pepper and a pinch of salt according to your taste.
