Mango lemonade or limeade

This refreshing mango lemonade or limeade blends fresh mango chunks with lemon or lime juice, sugar or honey, and water for a fruity, tart beverage. Blended and optionally strained, it is served over ice with a garnish of fresh mint and citrus slices, balancing sweetness and acidity.

Ingredients

  • 14-16 ounces Mango from about 3 mangos (I used Champagne mangos, pulp or chunks
  • 1 cup lemon juice from about 4 large lemons or 8-10 limes, or lime juice
  • ½ cup sugar add more or less to taste – can also use honey
  • 4 cups water still or sparkling - add more if desired, cold
  • ice to taste
To garnish:
  • mint or other fresh herbs
  • lices lime or lemon

Instructions

  1. Place the mango chunks with the lemon or lime juice, sugar or honey, 2 cups of water and a few ice cubes in a blender.
  2. Blend until you have a smooth mix, strain if desired (optional).
  3. Mix in the rest of the water. Taste and add additional sugar/honey if desired.
  4. Serve over ice cubes and garnish with fresh mint and a slice of lemon or lime.
