Ingredients
- ice
- 2 ounces silver tequila (such as Patrón, Jose Cuervo, or 1800)
- 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 ounce orange-flavored liqueur (such as Grand Marnier, Gran Gala, Cointreau, or Triple Sec)
- simple syrup (optional, to taste)
- Lime slice , for garnish
Instructions
- Place granulated sugar or kosher salt on a small plate. Rub the rim of a margarita glass with a lime wedge, then dip it into the sugar or salt, if desired. Add ice to the glass if using.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add tequila, lime juice, and orange-flavored liqueur. Shake well.
- Strain into the prepared glass and garnish with a lime slice.
