Microwave Frozen Broccoli

Introducing you to delicious microwave frozen broccoli. A frozen broccoli recipe that is full of flavour and perfect for a quick and simple veggie side dish.

Ingredients

  • 750 g frozen broccoli
  • 1 Tsp garlic powder
  • salt & pepper

  • Microwave Steamer Bowl

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Place one tablespoon of water in the bottom of your steamer basket.
  2. Add your frozen broccoli to the steamer basket. Then add your salt and pepper and garlic seasoning and mix with your hands for an even coating.
  3. Place the lid on the steamer and then place in the microwave.
  4. Microwave for 3 minutes. Shake the steamer basket to help the broccoli cook evenly and then microwave with the steamer lid back on for a further 6 minutes.
  5. Do a fork test to make sure the frozen broccoli is fork tender before serving.

Notes

  • Fork – I highly recommend the fork test for quickly testing how done your broccoli is and also feel the centre of one of the florets as when its frozen it takes a while to be piping hot in the middle.
  • Bits – Note that the packs of frozen broccoli always have little tiny bits of broccoli and you need to bin these as they will go to mush in the microwave.
