Milk Seviyan
Milk Seviyan is a creamy vermicelli dessert made by browning vermicelli in butter, then simmering it in milk and sweetening with sugar. The vermicelli softens to a tender texture while the milk thickens into a comforting, slightly sweet base. Adding nuts like pistachios or almonds enhances the dish with a subtle crunch and nutty flavor. This dessert is ideal when you want a warm, milky treat with lightly toasted vermicelli providing a gentle bite and a rich finish.
Ingredients
- 100 g vermicelli Seviyan
- 1 litre milk
- 50 g sugar
- 10 g butter
Instructions
- In a saucepan add the butter and allow it to melt completely on low heat
- When the butter has completely melted add the vermicelli and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring continuously to keep it from sticking, until it browns
- Once the vermicelli has browned slowly add the milk, stirring as you add, and allow it to come to a gentle boil
- Once it has browned add the sugar then mix before reducing the heat and allowing it to simmer for 5-10 minutes until thickened to your personal preference
- Garnish with pistachios or almonds and enjoy!
