Minced Beef and Onions

Minced Beef and Onions is traditional British comfort food, simple and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 500 g Minced Beef/Steak
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1 tbsp plain flour
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 300 ml / ½ pt Beef stock
  • 3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan over a medium heat.
  2. Once hot, sweat the onions over low to medium heat for 10 minutes under a lid, stirring occasionally until softened (not browned).
  3. Next add the minced beef and fry until browned.
  4. Sprinkle on the flour and cook for a minute stirring continuously.
  5. Add the stock, Worcestershire Sauce and seasoning and bring to the boil stirring until thickened.
  6. Simmer for ten minutes on a low heat.
  7. Serve with jacket potatoes or mash and vegetables.

Notes

  • Add more stock if the mixture becomes too thick.
