Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs beaten
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ¼ cup applesauce unsweetened
- 2 tablespoons oil canola, vegetable or coconut
TOPPING
- Wilton's candy coatings red and white (melted according to packaged directions)
- Sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Lightly grease donut pan or mini muffin pan. Set aside.
- In a large bowl mix together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, stir milk, eggs, vanilla, applesauce, and oil together.
- Pour into dry ingredients and mix until blended. Don’t over mix.
- Using a pastry bag or plastic sandwich bag, pipe dough into prepared pan. Bake 8-10 minutes.
- Allow to cool for about 5 minutes before removing the donuts from the pan.
- Dip each donut or mini muffin into the melted chocolate and decorate with sprinkles.
