Ingredients

  • 1 cup of fresh or frozen blackberries
  • 1 cup of fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 2 cups Purple Grape Juice
  • 3 or 4 mint leaves
  • ½ tablespoon of lemon rind
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 10 Ice cubes (if you're using fresh berries)
  • lemon slices for garnish
  • mint for garnish

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Throw all ingredients in a blender and mix well. To be fancy, pour the smoothie in a glass and garnish with a lemon slice (as pictured).

Notes

  • To adjust the consistency: Use fresh vs. frozen fruit and adjust how much liquid you add to adjust the thickness and consistency.
  • Taste and adjust: With juice and sweet, ripe berries, this smoothie is very sweet. You could reduce the amount of juice, substitute it for a less sweet liquid, and/or adjust the amount of lemon to adjust how sweet or tart it is.
  • For the smoothest smoothie: I recommend a high-speed blender, adding the liquids/softest ingredients closest to the blades and frozen ingredients furthest away. Pause the machine as needed to scrape down the sides for even blending.
