Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 cup peeled grated apple
  • 1/2 cup walnuts chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar together.
  3. Add eggs and beat until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  4. Combine all the dry ingredients and add them to creamed mixture.
  5. Using a spatula, stir in apples, nuts, and cheddar cheese.
  6. Spoon the batter into greased 8x5x3-inch loaf pan.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees F. for about 1 hour.
  8. Remove from the oven and cool in the baking pan for 10 minutes, then turn on the rack to cool completely.
