Monkey Bread
Monkey Bread is a pull-apart sweet bread made from canned buttermilk biscuit pieces coated in cinnamon sugar and baked with a butter and brown sugar glaze. The pieces caramelize in the oven, creating a sticky, sweet, and tender treat with an easy-to-serve presentation.
Ingredients
- 3 cans buttermilk biscuits 10 per can
- 1 cup granulated sugar white
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 4 ounces butter melted
- 1/2 cup pecans if desired, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease a 10-inch bundt or tube cake pan.
- Separate the biscuits and cut each one into four pieces.
- In a large zip-top plastic bag, combine white sugar and cinnamon.
- Add the biscuit pieces to the bag.
- Shake the bag to coat the biscuit pieces with cinnamon and sugar.
- Place the coated biscuit pieces in the cake pan.
- If using pecans, sprinkle them on top.
- Place butter and brown sugar in a small saucepan over medium-high heat.
- Bring the butter and brown sugar to a boil and boil for 1 minute.
- Pour the butter-brown sugar mixture over biscuits.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
- Allow the monkey bread to cool for 10 minutes before removing it from the pan.
