Ingredients
- 500 g mozzarella cheese Block of cheese
- 50 g plain flour All purpose flour
- 1/2 salt
- 1/2 garlic powder
- 2 eggs
- 150 g breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Cut the mozzarella cheese block into 4cm x 1cm thin sticks.
- Pour the flour into a bowl with salt and garlic powder and mix together.
- In a separate bowl, crack the eggs and whisk.
- In a third bowl, pour the breadcrumb and Italian seasoning and mix.
- Dredge the mozzarella sticks in the flour, shake off any excess flour, then dip into the egg and then press into the breadcrumbs to coat properly.
- Set aside on parchment paper and freeze for 2 hours.
- Fill a large pot with vegetable oil and heat up over a medium high heat.
- Working in batches, fry the mozzarella, turning frequently until it is golden brown, around 2–3 mins. Transfer to a plate lined with a paper towel.
- Fry the sticks until golden brown.
- Serve hot and enjoy with marinara sauce.
