Ingredients

  • 2 quarts apple cider
  • ¼ cup dark brown sugar
  • 5 whole cinnamon sticks
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 tablespoon whole allspice berries
  • Peel of 1 orange

Instructions

  1. Add 2 quarts apple cider, ¼ cup dark brown sugar, 5 whole cinnamon sticks, 4 whole cloves, 1 tablespoon whole allspice berries, and peel of 1 orange to a large pot.
  2. Bring just barely to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.
  3. Remove the spices and orange peel before serving hot.
